Where Sound Meets Story, and Spirit Takes Flight
Black Swan Rises was the world premiere of Neo Gen Music in a concert setting — a debut performance that blended the power of orchestral composition with deep symbolism, myth, and musical innovation.
Held at Malaysia’s most iconic concert hall, this one-night-only experience marked the birth of a new genre: part concert, part ritual, part cinematic journey.
BLACK SWAN RISES, is a unique concept-based musical performance that transcends the boundaries of traditional music concerts. It is a Neo Gen music concert based on the original compositions and arrangements by composer, producer, author, impresario, bassist and accountant, Rodin JS Kumar and conducted by Prof. Hanafie Imam. And unlike the typical focus on a few popular songs, this performance is a fusion of diverse musical concepts based on a specific theme-Black Swan Rises, and promises an unparalleled experience where ‘Jazz Meets Contemporary Classical Music.’
Black Swan Rises is as a story about humanity. We encounter many obstacles, difficulties, and disappointments in our pursuit of achievement and happiness. Inevitably we fall many times. Our strengths however, is our ability to pick ourselves up and get back stronger with courage, tenacity, flexibility, creativity, enthusiasm, and resilience. This is humanity’s essence. To endure and to achieve apotheosis, or the maximum possible potential in our work throughout this lifetime, by striving and thriving in the face of adversity.
Black Swan Rises is not just a performance. It’s an innovative art form that boldly unites the worlds of jazz and modern classical music through the medium of improvised music- Jazz. It’s an experimentation and exploration that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats.
